This is pretty solid as it comes with an all metal arm and cradle w/industrial springs to secure your phone. Its a one handed solution for placing your phone. That’s an IphoneX w/otterbox defender case and that thing is not going anywhere. Stay away from the cheap Amazon phone mounts and invest your money on this setup you will not regret it. Money well spent love this phone mount. 👌
I’ve been riding with the handlebar mount Tackform for 3 weeks and it is amazing. It’s easy to mount, handles high speeds and looks great. It’s the Real Deal!
I was looking for a mount for my Garmin Drive smart 55 with Traffic and did not want to mount it on the windshield. I could not find a cup holder mount that would work because they are all made for Smart Phones.
Working with Nick at Tackform he added a cup holder to the spring form mount which allowed for a secure fit for the 3/4 inch unit and allowed for the Cable to be used which is necessary for GPS units!! It was the perfect solution and just what I was looking for!! — Bill G. - Melrose MA
Overall I am pleased with this purchase. I have been researching methods to mount a tablet computer inside of my teardrop camper for a while now. I selected the TFEP-AM2AR12-TAB mount with dual-arms for the positioning flexibility as I wanted to attach the mount to the underside of the camper's cabin wood cabinets.
Initial observation; quality of the hardware appears to be good; manufacturing appears to be good; excellent communications by the seller; quick shipping. I will say that the mount can be a bit cumbersome to position with one tightening thumbscrew for two ball-joints, kind-of-a wet-noodle…but I was able to position for optimal viewing with a little patience. First deployment with this new accessory to my teardrop camper is mid-March 2020, time will tell the durability and reliability story…
I don’t plan on traveling with the tablet computer in the mount. No need for me to challenge the mount during transit and potentially damage the tablet computer, I will only clamp the tablet into the mount when the camper is parked. The mount seems to be sturdy enough; although it does flex with the weight of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 tablet computer installed but not a deal-breaker.
The tablet computer weighs 1lb 11oz. and is 11.5-inch (W) x 8-inch (H). The mount holds the tablet computer securely using two short and two medium clamp-legs. In my application, I drilled through holes and used #10-32 machine screws with nylon insert lock-nuts to attach the mount to the camper's cabin wood cabinets.
I highly recommend this mount…
Used this with a rubber coated magnet as the base for my phone mount in my '81 Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser.
