Having tried the competition—ranging from cheap Amazon specials to high-end brands like BulletPoint and BuiltRight Ind.— I’ve always been left disappointed. If an Amazon mount fails, the return policy saves you. But when you pay a premium price tag, you expect premium customer service and easy returns if it doesn't work out. Sadly, the other high-end brands gave me nothing but complications.
After endless forum digging, I expected to just settle and buy from a company I didn't love. Instead, I took a gamble on the Tackform Slim Track MagSafe Mount for the 22+ refreshed Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra with a 13.4" screen.
THE VERDICT? Tackform absolutely nailed it.
EASY INSTALL: Takes 5–10 minutes. Top-tier hardware and all necessary tools are included. The base locks down perfectly.
FACTORY-LIKE FIT: It sits completely flush in the recess behind the radio. It looks incredibly clean and looks like an OEM part, not aftermarket clutter.
ROCK-SOLID PERFORMANCE: Zero dash vibration or arm movement while driving. The MagSafe docking is effortless and highly adjustable.
OVERALL SCORE: 9.5/10. Highly Recommend...an absolute must-have for any truck or SUV.
My Only Critique: I wish the MagSafe magnets were a hair stronger. It holds well for daily driving, but a stronger pull would give total peace of mind on rough roads and taken that 9.5 to a perfect 10!
BUYER'S NOTE: If you have Chevy/GMC with the 13.4" screen, go ahead and add the Dropdown/Extension Kit (Short Reach). This will keep your phone from obstructing the display even the slightest bit. I skipped it and am now kicking myself for having to pay $7 shipping for a $14 part! Do yourself a favor learn from my mistake.
